Book Review: The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

I am writing a book review on 'The Graveyard Book'. I would rate it 4.5/5 because it has descriptive language, with a gripping build up to the unfortunate finale. At the start, Baby Bod escapes a malicious, daring man named 'the man Jack'. Before this though, Baby Bod's parents and siblings are brutally murdered in cold blood. A few chapters on, and when he is seven, he meets an intriguing, young girls called Scarlett. They instantly become the best of friends, however, Scarlett's dad is a boarding school teacher, and has to move away. Yet, there is a boring part where Bod has escaped the graveyard with a collective of famous ministers. On their way to a city, Bod gets swung around and has to camp. I felt this section went on too long, when it could have been a shorter chapter. Yet, it makes up for it by revealing one of its many secrets about Miss Lupescu. 

My favourite characters are Miss Lupescu and Silas. THis is becuase they act mysteriously, yet they just want to do their job. You find out Miss Lupescu's secret in Chapter Three, whilst Silas doesn't give you an answer until nearer the end when all is revealed. The question that sticks with you is: 'Why can Silas explore, when he is dead, yet other ghosts can't?'
